Arlington, VA May 24, 2004 - The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense Agency, announced today that the Montana ESGR Committee will salute Montana's National Guardsmen, Reservists, and their Supportive Employers on Friday, June 4, 2004 during a breakfast event at the Heritage Inn, 1700 Fox Farm Road, in Great Falls.

"Saluting America's Employers is the right thing to do, and this is the right time to do it", said Bob Hollingsworth, ESGR Executive Director. "During this time of unprecedented mobilizations of the brave men and women of the National Guard and Reserve, ESGR is honoring those employers who have demonstrated "Above and Beyond" support for their employees who serve in the Montana National Guard and Reserve".

The morning event will feature Montana Governor Judy Martz, Major General John Prendergast, and Brigadier General Frank Tobel of the Montana National Guard. A NASCAR show car, known as "America's Car, will be parked at the Great Falls Market Place were the public can have their pictures taken with the car, and sign several large "Support Our Troops" banners that will be sent to our servicemen and women stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, and elsewhere in the world. This is part of a nationwide campaign to collect 1.2 million signatures, one for every Guardsman and Reservist who currently serves the nation.

The mission of ESGR is to "gain and maintain active employer support from all public and private employers for the men and women of the Guard and Reserve as defined by demonstrated employer commitment to employee military service."
