ATLANTA- Suong Ives cordially invites you to experience Rice & Spice: an evening of saké and sight at Green Papaya Vietnamese French Bistro on March 4, 2003. This event will offer a unique sake and plum wine dinner in which attendees can sample premium, chilled sake, or rice wine, from around the world. To enhance the dining experience, a special exhibition of art on rice paper will be on display, courtesy of the Art Center at Chastain.

As founder and head chef of Green Papaya, Ives has a passion for introducing Atlanta to new experiences. "Most Americans don't realize that sake is not strictly Japanese, nor do they know that the higher quality brands are meant to be served chilled instead of hot," comments Chef Ives. She continues, "Many countries including Korea, Australia, and the US produce extraordinary premium sake and we want to present this fact at Rice and Spice."

This wine tasting will be paired with a special menu of Asian and French fare that includes Green Papaya Salad and Five-Spice Roasted Duck in Hoisin and Honey Sauce prepared by Chef Suong Ives.

The small art exhibition that accompanies this dinner features work by Chinese Brush Instructor Gail Racy and her students from the Art Center at Chastain. These pieces offer contemporary treatments of traditional Chinese forms and themes produced on rice paper. Although the sake tasting is only for one night, the Rice Exhibition will be on display at Green Papaya until March 18, 2003.

Tickets for Rice and Spice tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door, if available. Free admission will be granted to a limited amount of covering press only! Press RSVP to publicist Joy Donnell at 678.887.2762 or email her at joy@donnellalta.com. For general information, please visit www.greenpapaya.us or call the restaurant at 770.984.1177.
