Stanford University Geoscience Chair DR. JERRY HARRIS is Keynote Speaker at NABGG 2004 CONFERENCE


September 9, 2004 -- Stanford University's Geophysics Department Chairman, Dr. Jerry Harris will give the keynote address at the NABGG Awards and Scholarship Banquet that will be held on September 17, 2004 at 7:00 PM at the Doubletree Club Hotel, Austin Texas.

Dr. Jerry Harris , SEG Distinguished Lecturer, is widely known in the field of geosciences, with broad experiences in both the corporate and academic arenas of the industry. His developments in the areas of acoustical resonance spectroscopy, reservoir geophysics, and crosswell technology are utilized in seismic exploration activities by many major oil and gas companies.

Stanford University's Geophysics Department currently is involved in the following research activities: Biological oceanography, earthquake mechanics, environmental investigations, rock physics, reflection, refraction and tomographic seismology, studies of continental geomechanics, studies of crustal deformation and theoretical and computational geophysics.
