San Francisco International Fashion Week Debuts October 2004

September 9, 2004 -- San Francisco International Fashion Week (SFIFW) presents its inaugural fashion extravaganza benefiting The Arthritis Foundation on Thursday, October 21, 2004, at Pier 48 in San Francisco. This first-of-its-kind international fashion affair in San Francisco will feature exclusive fashion shows, top-notch entertainment, and spectacular pre- and post-show events tailored to the city's sophisticated citizens.

Traditionally, fashion weeks in the United States focus on high-end American designers. San Francisco International Fashion Week is unique in that it embraces the diversity and talents of designers worldwide. Jacinta Law, producer of SFIFW explains, "The vision of San Francisco International Fashion Week is to spotlight the city of San Francisco as the true multicultural city that it is through fashion, entertainment, and social events."

Gavin Newsom, San Francisco Mayor, proclaimed October 20-24, 2004 International Fashion Week in San Francisco. The mayor's proclamation stated, "International Fashion Week will be a destination and trade forum for the fashion and apparel markets offering new opportunities for the fashion industry while elevating San Francisco to the ranks of the world's elite fashion capitals."

More than just a single event, SFIFW is launching on October 21, 2004 and continuing twice yearly in March and October. SFIFW is strategically scheduled between the fashion weeks in New York and Los Angeles, and is concurrent with the two annual fashion seasons held in Paris, Milan, and London.

The October debut highlights the Spring/Summer 2005 collections of designers from India, Russia, France, Asia and North America. Fashion leaders attending this exciting inaugural fashion week include fashion editors, magazine publishers, acclaimed fashion photographers, high-end fashion consumers, San Francisco's A-list personalities, and celebrity guests.

San Francisco International Fashion Week includes a premiere black-tie gala, fashion awards luncheon, and three days of fashion shows by elite international designers. Each fashion show is open to over 1000 guests and will be followed by an invitation-only post-event party at various locations throughout the city.

Media sponsors of SFIFW include 7x7, L'Officiel, Lucire, and KDFC. Additional sponsors will be announced. Sponsorship opportunities are available for the October 2004 and March 2005 SFIFW events.

San Francisco International Fashion Week is produced by Jacinta Productions & Management. JACINTA Productions specializes in large-scale fashion event productions for luxury clients.
